Not a Great improvement on the older models
Mixed feelings about this model. I was replacing an earlier Sony because its battery had finally packed up. The down side of this new model, apart from being plasticy, is that the controls are very sensitive and tend to be activated when not intended. There is also a tendency, if you're not accurate pressing the central button, to be taken to a completely different place. Also, I used to like the feature that displayed each song at the start, which doesn't happen on this new model. Otherwise, very happy with my new MP3 player.

Decent but lacks some features
The sound is decent and Sony finally put dedicated volume and hold key backs. The software is easy to use but lacks features like dynamic playlists and most notably miss support for common formats (ogg, flac). It also feels a bit slow and the resolution of the screen is really low.

A good unit, easy to use.
Navigating the menu is a breeze and it picks up the song I was playing at the point where it was when I turned it off. The screen makes it easy to see what's playing and it is easy to select the music I want to play. I have to download software to the computer and hook up the player to the computer to set up a play list.

Sounds good just a little plastic
I've had a Sony Walkman for years and really liked it. This one has the same features and design, which is great, it's just a bit plasticky and not as sturdy. I don't like the ear buds that come with it, when the wind blows it blows straight across the front so you can't hear the music properly.

this player is not worth the money
I have the old version of this player which I got 9 years ago and I can't believe that the old one has a much better screen and works much better in every way then this new version. This new one is a piece of plastic and I can't believe that I can't get my old one in stores anymore. This just demonstrates how companies are no longer wanting to make good quality products just looking to sell something. The player is okey but it is like they went 6 years backwards from the old one.

Disappointing
For: Proper buttons and lock control. Clear display Against: No folder for podcasts (they are ’music’ according to Sony). Easily turned on by mistake. Cannot delete files from device (only from PC) Conclusion: 15 years of development has enabled Sony to minimise all functionality. Disappointing.
