Good developer but timing shown for Ilford HP5 Film is wrong
Tried this for my son's school project as cheaper than Ilford S. Followed the instructions for developing Ilford HP5 400ASA film. The recommended timing was 7 minutes at 20C for a 9+1 dilution for normal contrast. Negatives were really thin, almost unprintable! Did some research on the web and the recommended time found for FD10 was 12-13 minutes for good normal contracts negatives and with limited tank agitation - 30 seconds continuous at start and then only 2 inversions per minute, including on the last minute just before emptying. Second film was processed for 13 minutes at 20.6C and 9+1 and contrast was much better.
