Good sound but could be built a little more solidly
The headphone jack on my Dell Latitude was broken, and having put up with holding the jack in place with Plasticine and my fingers the idea of a USB solution eventually surfaced in my mind. The adaptor was purchased, plugged in, and after some playing around works perfectly, audio wise. There are a couple of small problems. a) the adaptor must be plugged in before the DVD program is switched on, otherwise you will hear nothing. b) in common with most USB devices the physical connection between the male portion of the unit and the body of the unit is only that which is provided by the solder connections of the terminals. At some time I shall try to feed some superglue into the joint between the metal casing of the male portion of the plug, and the white plastic end cap, to take the strain off the soldered joints.
Otherwise the sound is all that I require for listening to DVD films and audio book downloads. Well done
