A Hassle To Install
Unit works fine after installation. Plan on pulling the saddle and removing material from its bottom to accomodate the pick-up wire. The biggest issue was that the backing brackets that go inside the instrument were not the same size as the control boxes. As to the cost, identical item advertised on Ebay for less than what I paid, but seller is in China. Installation is tricky,so you must be skilled and patient during the process. You also need to plan for and have the tools to cut out the holes. Templates for holes are available at Fishman web site. Make sure you take an initial measurement height of the saddle before removing it at beginning of process because the saddle height will have to be reduced to get the same action height after installing the braided copper wire that will sit under the saddle after installation. Watch a few YouTube videos of similar installations. Remember the preamp sits flat, but the jack plug assembly has a slight rounding for installation at the lower bout. The unit works great.
