Tagamet, expensive but available
Tagamet, while having many drug-to-drug interactions in humans (e,g, don't take if also using drug "ABCDE"), it is the H2 blocker of choice in dogs with Mast Cell Tumors. My dog has been taking the generic Tagamet (cimetidine) for about 10 months now, never a problem with it. It is very hard to find right now with Zantac/ranitidine off the market. The prices on ebay were at least double what I've seen in walmart, and Pepcid/famotidine is also OK in dogs, but Tagamet/cimetidine is the preferred in dogs (per The Dog Cancer Survival Guide, 2011, Drs.
