A tape replacing exactly a very old, worn-out, reliable tool.
As my very old tape measure has now died after 40 years and the new one is the same design etc. I fully expect this to give an equally satisfactory service. This design and manufacture is reliable, accurate (does not stretch). can be wiped clean when necessary. Its uses will be for needlework, mearuring for sizing for clothes, measuring short lengths such as depths , widths and lengths of shelving etc. In particular I like the measure to refold into its original folds for storing - my preference as I store it in the same place and this new tape will do this.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

You might be inclined to think there's not much difference between tape measures but as anyone who works with one regularly can tell you, the truth is the complete opposite. I use my tape measure many times a day in my work and I've lost count of how many turn out to be flimsy plastic things that fall apart or split. They even feel cheap to touch. This tape measure on the other hand is a little gem. It's reminiscent of the ones my Mum and Grandma used when I was a child. It's flexible without showing any sign of breaking, stretching or splitting. It feels like a strong coated fabric rather than nasty plastic. There's a sense of quality and an item that will stand the test of time. The metal end tabs are firmly fixed, not loose or coming away, and the markings are all strongly printed and clear. I'm really delighted with this tape measure.
