Great Radar Dector
Has good range with three bands of radar detection. Allows you to omit the X-band if it not used by police in your area. Also when you power off the GPS it also turns off the light in the power cord so your battery will not have a drain on it while you are not in your vehicle. This Escort Solo S3 cordless radar detector is everything I expected and a cordless is exactly what I wanted because of the vehicle decisions I make at a moments choice. Everyday either the car, PU, or motorcycle is what I like to use it in quickly and go. Does a pretty good job for plastic.
This is a decent, low-cost alternative to the new line of $100 mirror mounts available. Mounting the clamp on the mirror stem was a bit of a challenge due to having to use wing nuts instead of allen-head screws. The lower stem is made of plastic, very easy to use and quite adjustable. Once adjusted to the proper position make sure to really tighten the thumb screw securely or the detector will not stay in place. Well made, but a little limited
The mount is well made and has good range if you are mounting directly under the mirror. I wanted to put my detector a little behind the mirror so that it is hidden by the mirror and is was a little difficult to get it into that position ... as a matter of fact I was unable to get it totally behind the mirror so it didn't have the range I would have most desired. Solo S3
I have an escort 9500i in my other car and is unbeatable! I have used the Solo S3 for 2 weeks now and appears to have all the good features.....range, easy setup, and reliable. I only had it in 2 days and it saved me from Lazar near a school zone. 3 days later the Ka band went off and it was a police car waiting at a traffic light 3/4 mile up the road. I pulled right up along side and the warning kept up until he made a left turn and got out of sight. So it works great to my satisfaction. Just what I needed
The Solo S3 is great! I mounted for a trip to San Diego and it was nice and unobstrusive. Others have said it all. This is an all around great radar detector. It compares in sensitivity and range with my Escort RedLine.
