Simple, attractive, fast & reliable.
This 6700 classic was purchased as an upgrade from my 6500 classic. It has a MUCH better camera, with autofocus, allowing me to take clear pictures of objects very close-up or regular distances. The close-up's distance is about 6 inches from target, which enables me to capture legible writing/text - something the 6500's camera wouldn't do. The screen is fractionally larger than the 6500's, as are the buttons. The menu's/functions/behaviour are the same as the 6500's with the exception of: 1. Storage can be either phone or micro SD card 2. The menu icons are no longer animated (although some 3rd party 'Themes' resurrect this feature) 3. The mini icons at the top of the main screen no longer have color eg. the message icon is plain white, not yellow 4. The only way to adjust the volume of music/video playback is via the side volume rocker key - there's no software control for it in the media player anymore. 5. The phone has a sensor which tells the camera if your holding it portrate or landscape & automatically adjust the EXIF information. One main advantage of the 6700 is the built-in GPS, however, it seems no one has a copy of the original maps. Microsoft binned the 'free maps for life' that Nokia originally offered and thoroughly burned all traces of it on the internet. Thanks microshaft. Another reason for me to avoid that company. The GPS function still works and can track/trace your movements but with no map to over/underlay, the cursor simply moves across a beige 'sea' of nothingness. Apart from that, this is an excellent phone. It's simple to use, fast and responsive, utterly reliable, has a standby battery life of 168 hours (14 days at 12 hours per day), can be charged via USB mini-B or Nokia small-tip charger and all of this wrapped up in a really nice looking phone. If you like the simple 'old' Nokia's and you want one with a decent camera, I doubt you'll find better than this - GET ONE NOW!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

No signal issue
Have had this model 3 times but in silver. I could only get a gold version this time. I struggle to get a signal most of the time in certain ares , areas that I had no problem with my silver 6700 classic. I have the same provider so that is not the issue. I recall somewhat to late a friend brought this gold model when it was first launched and had the very same problem.
