These are the best Lavalier mics you can get without spending ten times as much!
This mic is simply fantastic value. The leads are ridiculously long actually which sometimes makes it awkward to use sometimes but I would rather have that problem than ones too short. Plug it into your DSLR and just press record. It works brilliantly! Crystal clear spoken audio but with little background. I made a short video in Barcelona outside the Sagrada Familia using my nine year old daughter for a school project. She spoke quietly as she was intimidated by hundreds of people around her staring. Her audio was clear and I had no trouble using the footage. That is all you really want and it delivers. I have several and have yet to replace the battery. Great value for money!
I've been using the mic on my camera for my YouTube videos for a while and it has always bothered me about hiss and background noise. I got the Boya mic for £15 and have just done my first video using it and the difference is remarkable. The sound of the mic is not very rich but there is very little hiss and background noise. I added a little low end using an eq on the vocal track and it sounded fine. The foam does come off the mic very easily so I may have to glue it on. Otherwise it's fantastic value for money. Vlogging
Bought the mic as the main source of my audio when filming my outdoor vlogs. I have Sony Nex6 with no mic jack so I'm recording directly onto my phone. Really happy the mic has the switch for camera/smartphone as I'll be upgrading my Sony with a mic jack. Hence the mic is versatile. Sound quality in outdoors is great. Need a bit of EQ love though. Good sound and good value
Produces good sound on Tascam recorder. Far better than Tascam mics when recording voice 3 feet away from Tascam. Reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because the alligator clip broke when clipping it to the mic for first time. I subsequently attached the mic to the clip with a bit of wire. You need a second adaptor if you want to use it for iPhone 8s ect
