I remember watching this as a child. I don't recall it being so long - 10 discs worth! From the days when the BBC produced top quality drama. I bought this because I took my family to stay in Colditz Castle recently - now a youth hostel. Colitz, the ultimate 70s version
It is so nice to watch something where people don't say things like 'we was' or 'innit' or 'it was more sunnier'. Joanna David is so elegant and well spoken, and smart. There are so may good stories and plots in this series. Robert Wagner is superb in his part as 'the yank', with his arrogant and vain demeanour, and Bernard Hepton struts like a peacock! It is really good to watch this all over again. Last seen as a child to young to appreciate it 1st time round and my husband has not seen the whole series, trying to encourage him as we both enjoy WW11 stories.
