About this product

Product Information

The Olympus 35SP Rangefinder 35mm camera is for the photographer looking for a compact and lightweight unit. It will get the photos when and where you want. Packed with features that both a novice and a professional can appreciate, the numbers tell it all. With a 6-degree spot metering system, you will always find the right light. Shoot ASA 25-800 to meet your needs for exposure times. And with the infinity focus range, you know why this Olympus is a rangefinder. The 35SP can be completely automatic with autoexposure in the Program mode, or you can use it with full manual control. The five-blade mechanical, yet quiet, leaf shutter ranges in shutter speeds from 1 to 1/500 second in Manual. In Program mode, the 35 SP has a shutter speed range of 1/15 to 1/250. This Olympus uses the "trapped needle" system to set speed and exposure. Pressing the release locks the needle. The internal mechanics use the needle position to set the diaphragm and shutter. As you press the release partway, you lock the exposure. Press the release button to the bottom of its range to fire. The CdS light meter is by default center-weighted. The Spot button on the back of the camera allows you to switch between spot meter and center-weighted metering. And with the 35 SP always on, you need only bring the camera up to your eye for a quick accurate photo. The 35 SP shuts off only when in the dark or stored in a bag. There is a hot shoe for an external flash with performance from X-sync to 1/500 second. The Olympus Flash-Matic system, when used in Manual, lets you set the guide number and then it adjusts the aperture as you focus. Flash-Matic works from 32 to 260 feet (GN 10–80 meters) no matter what ASA the film. You can operate this camera with or without batteries because all the battery does is move the meter needle on these rangefinders. The rest of the camera is mechanical, using the power of your thumb to advance the film and your finger to fire the shutter-release. Film handling with Olympus 35 SP Rangefinders is simple. The cartridge pops right into the back. A couple of full pulls on the advance lever and you are ready to go. The frame counter displays even numbers with a dot between them for odd numbers. The self-timer, available when using the Program option, gives you nine seconds to get into position, and the shutter-release has threads for a screw-in cable. The viewfinder has parallax compensation marks for when you are shooting up close. Get fast, smooth, and easy focusing using the focus tab. When replacing the battery, use a Wien 625 or an adapter with a Zinc Air 675. You can choose your favorite lens among the many lenses that are compatible with 35 SP cameras. One of the most popular for this rangefinder camera is the normal 42mm lens. With the infinity focus range, there will be no reason to question why this Olympus camera is called the Rangefinder.

  • Great 35mm rangefinder!

Lens at least as good as Leica, perfect normal for full-frame 35mm. It was made specifically for this camera: tear element close to film, entire assembly focuses on its helicoid, like a view camera. Has onboard spot meter. Not built as strongly as a Leica, and lens is fixed. But image quality is unmatchable, if you learn to visualize your images with the focal length. Very happy with mine, after years with SLRs. Good scans with negs should make for outstanding prints at a small fraction of full-frame digital costs (if time is not a factor).

  • State-of-the-art range-finder

Best little classic rangefinder out there with unique spot-metering and EV-based meter. As all other rangefinder, a little hard to focus in low-light. Pop in a 625 battery (hard to find) or tweak the battery chamber to accept a lr44 battery and you'll be just fine. Set ISO, AA mode and just shoot for perfect exposure everytime.

  • Llegó en malas condiciones.

La cámara tiene un golpe en el aro de enfoque por lo cual el mismo está deformado y no permite el libre movimiento para el enfoque correcto.
