About this product

Product Information

Whenever people think back to the 1980s, the memory of Polaroid cameras invariably comes quickly to mind. They were different from virtually every other type of film cameras at the time, and catered to a totally distinct crowd. The instant pics that this Polaroid camera produced are distinctive, with its white borders and square formats. This Polaroid Sun 660 Instant Film Camera was first released back in 1981. Now you can enjoy this fashionable shooting style thanks to this classic Polaroid Sun 660 camera model. Polaroid is known for making great looking cameras that perform as well as they look. This camera features one of the earliest auto-focus capabilities and Polaroid's Sonar Autofocus, which uses sound waves to determine distance. A built-in flash is useful for taking pictures indoors while the Light Management System lets you adjust the exposure setting easily. It features both a framing and a taking lens so your shots are accurate every time. The Polaroid Sun Autofocus 660 has a 116mm f/11 lens, and it's comprised of single-element plastic. It has a unique sonar autofocus that can be turned off easily with a button under the flash for shots that are farther away. The Polaroid 660 is at its sharpest at 4 to 5 feet. Polaroid's Light Management System has a darken/lighten exposure correction slider so that you can achieve the best pictures possible in many different conditions. Use the comfortable viewfinder, which includes an indicator for the exposure compensation. It's easy to adjust the lightness or darkness of your photos from the front of your camera, and you can instantly see the adjustments through the finder. The focusing range of this camera is 0.6-infinity.Its shutter is electronic with an automatic speed of between 1/4-1/200 seconds. This Polaroid camera has an integral auto flash that works in low ambiance for great photos in any lighting conditions. Since Polaroid Instant Cameras use a special instant film, there is no need for a printer and a trip to the store to develop film is unnecessary. You don't need to upload anything to a computer since each piece of film has a chemical packet that develops each picture instantly. The chemical reaction of the film only takes a couple of minutes to develop. The film is also easy to load into these cameras. The 600-type film it uses is still readily available for purchase. If you want to get your memories in your hands instantly, this Instant Polaroid Camera and its film will deliver. It is also a good choice for kids or any aspiring photographer because it is simple and enjoyable to use. Most importantly, it gives instant gratification for all kinds of photography.

  • The past seems like it was better....

This camera is a lot of fun. They are so simple so there’s almost nothing to go wrong. Even after 30 years they still work. The new Polaroid Originals film works, but your only get 8 shots instead of the original 10 shots, so the frame counter on the camera is misleading now. Also, you need to protect the exposed film from light for like an hour while it “develops”, something that wasn’t necessary back in the 1980s. They also warn you not to shake it, in spite of what the OutKast song says (lol, I like it when companies have a sense of humor). The finished product is quite soft-focus, probably due to this camera having a fixed-focus lens. Also, the colors seem very muted vs old Polaroid shots from the past. Mostly blues and greens, not a lot of reds or vibrant colors. I haven’t tried the new B&W films, mostly due to the cost: over $2 per picture. This is a great camera for groups or parties, especially for young people who’ve never seen a camera like this in action.
