.with "Lemmy" Kilmister (R.I.P.) from Motörhead. "Eat the Rich", 100% uncut, DVD. New and sealed, Region2 coded dvd (. Forced to deal with the contempt and disgust of the upper class, Alex & cohorts attempt to go on a rampage. ).
This is a great funny film with The Comic Strip and Lemmy. Unfortunately the DVD is very poor quality. The sound is awful and I had a lot of difficulty hearing what anyone was saying. To make matters worse there are no subtitles. The picture quality is also poor. This looks like a copy of a copy of a copy
I hadn't seen this film since I saw it on its cinematic release in 1987 so was unsure how it had aged, but it still holds up surprisingly well. The satire on the division between the rich and the poor or homeless in London is as stark today as it was portrayed then. In fact, the scene in the benefits office where a monstrous clerk, played by Miranda Richardson, taunts those who are desperate for money for food and lodgings is closer to the truth now than ever. The cast is a great who's who of British comedy actors, character actors and musicians, all playing well to create a chaotic plot, the threads of which are all drawn together by the end. You'll spend most of the film spotting famous people, often years before they were famous. The stand out performance are from Lana Pellay, and Lemmy (whose band Motorhead contribute many songs to the films soundtrack, including 'Eat The Rich). The whole thing's a riot from start to finish.
