  • Excellent product.

Never having attempted to etch glass previously I was a little nervous particularly as I was using toughened glass. However fear has turned to confidence. Armour Etch is easy to use and gives excellent results. The instructions suggest shaking the bottle before use, but this didn't seem to have much effect on the product so I stirred it with a bit of scrap wood. I am delighted with the product and have just ordered a second bottle. Looks like the start of a new hobby!

  • New lease of life for spectacles

I didn't buy this for glass etching. I bought it to try and restore my spectacles, which were unusable due to the coating on the plastic lenses being so fogged and scratched that I could no longer see through them. Specsavers were most unhelpful, as due to Covid lockdown etc I had not had a recent eye test and they would not make me a replacement set from my old prescription. So go for broke! Applied the cream to both sides of the lenses with an artists paintbrush. Left for three minutes, then wiped the cream off with paper towel and disposed. Rinse the spectacles very thoroughly making sure there is no paste left, particularly around the nosepice and hinges. Then rinse again just to be sure - you do not want any residue left on the glasses near your eyes! Result- crystal clear lenses, as good as new. I was a little doubtful about this remedy which is fairly widely quioted now, but it does work, Of course it only works with plastic lenses- it would destroy a set of glass spectacles. Also of course , if your plastic lenses are deeply scratched it will not take these out.

  • Works really well!

I have been wanting to try Armour Etch for some time and I finally took the plunge. Its pretty easy to use but I do recommend using gloves as suggested. Face mask and eye wear if you are not in a ventilated room or you are using a brush that can flick the product. My first go was a pint glass with my local football teams logo. Its not perfect as I didn't get the mask completely flat causing bleeds. So on curvy objects make sure you get it utterly flat! As YouTube videos suggest flat objects are best which is what I'm doing next.

  • Fantastic crafting, gift idea.

I have worked my way through a few bottles of this now. Make wonderful personalised gifts Using stick on letters. Can personalised glasses, with name and occasion. It makes a gift of bottle of wine, that extra special. Have used it to personalised glass vases, with flowers. Named glass baubles for everyone at our Xmas lunch as table gift. Been very useful in creating a sympathy vase, personalised with their name, a gift to treasure and keep and lot less expensive then a floral tribute. I would know as an ex- florist. The uses are endless. So get creating.... Before using, get some inspiration and know how of YouTube. Happy crafting.

  • So easy and effective

This etching cream is simple to use. I was a bit dubious about just leaving it on the glass for 1 minute but it worked brilliantly. The product will last a long time as, even though a thick layer is needed, it can be scraped off before washing and put back in the container. Brilliant value for money. I'd highly recommend.

  • So effective and easy to use

This is my new obsession! It etches glass and slate and is so easy to use. Really good effect on finished items and a little goes a long way so good value. Would definitely recommend this etching cream.

  • Worked on Lampwork glass beads !

I used to etch some glass beads and it worked ! Just dip the beads on a string in the bottle and leave for 30 minutes. Scrape the cream off inside the bottle with a plastic stick or spoon and wash the beads with water and soap ! Worked great and removed the shiny surface of the lampwork glass beads ! They look nice and matt ! Great, just what I wanted !

  • Does exactly what is says on the tin

Used this product for the first time today and I'm extremely happy with the results. I'm a typical bloke that never reads instructions so thought I'd just slap some on and hope for the best. I applied a thin coat with a brush and left it on for 15 minutes. I then washed it off and thought it didn't work as it looked like glass still (when wet) but once I peeled the vinyl off WOW :O It worked better than I had anticipated. I'd defiantly recommend this product but the price is a bit steep.

  • Great stuff.Etch like a professional.

I used to etch on to an old glass soda syphon. The product works extremely well, but I would strongly advise watching a youtube video with tips on how to use the cream. It recommends leaving it on for 5 minutes rather than 1. I was surprised and pleased with the results and would definitely recommend this product.
