I've owned one of these for over 20 years, and last month it eventually broke :-) Such a great product I have just purchased a new one, highly recommend. Fast heat up time, easy to use, short soldering tip means you can hold close to the end and therefore gives greater control and accuracy. Solder anywhere!
Brilliant piece of kit. So much easier to use than an electric one - no wires dragging about, plus you can solder anywhere. I've had one of these for nearly 30 years and I've just replaced the tip and flint. Each gas refill lasts quite a long time, but keep your canister handy as it's bound to run out just when you need it otherwise. Have used it in the middle of an airfield in breezy conditions and once the flame was lit the catalytic convertor fired up and had no difficulty soldering. Decided to buy a second one for my mobile toolkit, leaving the old one for home.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
