Psychedelic heaven at a reasonable price
Still the original psychedelic record and still the best. From the opening of Astronomy Domine to the closing sound effects of The Bike, this is a psychedelic gem, sounding as fresh today as it did back in 1967. But for God's sake, buy the vinyl, it just doesn't sound the same on CD. And at this price it is great value for money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A piece of music history
You can feel the battle between the record company that wanted commercials single's and the mighty Syd Barrett who wanted to create on vinyl the experiences of seeing Pink Floyd live. It was a time when bands like Cream would play 10-20 on one song by each soloing. Floyd wanted to take a riff or idea to its length by improv and wherever the substances they had taken led them. This album is a curious mix of silly ditties and some moments of where Floyd was heading in the future. Barrett was very clever and produced some wonderful Floyd singles that failed to appear on this LP, however if like me you were born in the fifties and this is a return to our childhood or you are new to this particular Floyd album grab a cup of tea or whatever and use headphones as loud as you can handle. Arguably this is the start point for what we would later call Progressive Rock.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
