  • An enlightening read throughout.

I bought Katherine May's 'Wintering' some months ago; it was recommended by Miranda Mills on YouTube. I have had mental health issues (depression, anxiety and stress) for many, many years and when Miranda reviewed 'Wintering' I immediately ordered it online. I was very pleased with this wonderful book and I felt, as I read my way through from cover to cover, that I could identify the symptoms that Katherine described. Sometimes you can feel very alone with your thoughts, but Katherine's words were heart-warming and reassuring. I was sorry when I came to last page and read the last sentence, the last word and saw the full-stop; end of book. ''Wintering' relates to parallels you can identify in the world around you. There are no mystiques or complex medical terminology. It is written from the heart in good old fashioned plain words that mean something and are tangible. I have been receiving counselling for my mental health and I'm drawing nearer the final two sessions. My wife read 'Wintering' after me and she suggested that we give my counsellor a copy at my last session; the book I purchased from eBay is here in the livingroom, along with a second copy, also from eBay, I've bought for a friend.

  • Wintering - allowing yourself to take the time to rest and retreat

I saw this book recommended to someone in a post and it simply spoke to me. It's a great read and the author shares her experiences which resonate with me. Over the summer rest and retreat has been much needed following major surgery and I'm intending to keep it going as I continue to heal and grow stronger in mind, body and spirit.

  • Excellent reflective book.

This is a very relaxing book and reminds us that we don’t need to live at 90 miles an hour and we can’t expect life to be a bed of roses all the time but we will survive.
