Did not perform.
First thing is that my disappointment might be because e-bows won't work with active pickups due to their low magnetic field. However, before purchase, I did e-mail EMG to ask if it should work with their pickups (all my guitars have EMGs) and they said yes. However, despite this, on the normal setting, the e-bow did not produce any sound at all; on the harmonic setting, it took 5-6 seconds to build any sound at all. Yes, I did use new batteries.

String and woodwind sounds from an electric guitar!
This is a fun way to get string and woodwind sounds from an electric guitar. It took me a couple of hours of practice to get to a point where I could produce a desired sound on command. Reading the manual is a must, as this is quite a different experience for guitar players. But the results are worth it, and you will be able to produce unique sounds that set you apart from a typical guitar player. The downside is that the unit is cased in plastic and will most likely not survive a bad drop. So treat it gingerly.
