Only needed if you can’t get to a dealer
I only got this because I like to fix things myself as much as possible andI get some sense of satisfaction/growth/achievement or something.. otherwise it’s not worth the investment unless you’re a bike mechanic or something. Was updating my e-bike software and it got interrupted making my bike inoperable. This unit was essential in order to get the bike connected to laptop and reinstall.
