Fastest way to sand
Absolutely fantastic sander that powers through paint etc without leaving circular or scratch marks at all. Being a quality dewalt tool means you can use it for hours on end without it getting hot. Much faster to use than any other type of sander, only drawback is you can't get into the corners, but i use dewalts other sanders for that. Totally adjustable speed means you can sand gently or furiously. 1 year warranty extends online to 3year, so plenty of peace of mind too. I've had numerous cheaper options in the past and they all quickly get hot and expire, you find yourself making excuses not to use them. Brisk pace
I was expecting something just like this from De Walt and I'm not disappointed. Some people complain about it's little power button but I'm glad cause it's not too easy to actually mistakenly turn it off and on. Beginner's verdict on lightweight sander
I am biassed because though I am a beginner with orbital sanders I have two other de Walt machine tools which have given faultless service for years. I think a pair of removable handles on either side of the main body of the sander might make it easier to hold, but ,as a beginner, I am waiting to see if this turns out to be unnecessary when I get used to the sander, but I have arthritic wrists and may have to make some kind of handles to help me to keep the sander from tilting over when it comes to the edge of a plane surface. It is certainly a vast improvement on the simple rotary disk sanders I have used for years, cursing the torn edges which are so apt to occur.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great orbital sander
Very good orbital sander / DA, I used to work in the motor trade years ago and know how to use one of these correctly, I have been using this to sand down my oak front door after paint stripping the old 'varnish' off used a couple of 240 grit disks, I will have to do the moldings by hand. I’ve been considering buying an orbital sander for some time. Doing a lot of decorating during lockdown I thought now is the time. Watched the online reviews and opted for the Dewalt.
