Effective But Environmentally Unkind
I've been using this for years because it's the most effective product I've found for getting rid of Norway rats. If you have multiple bird feeders like me, you likely have rats from time to time. Traps don't work for me because there's always the danger of painfully killing animals you don't want to kill i.e. red Douglas squirrels, chipmunks, birds etc. I've live trapped and drowned rats and shot them with a pellet gun, but those aren't sure fire options. Sometimes it takes longer and larger quantities than other times to kill them with this poison, but it has always worked. The biggest danger is that other animals or birds of prey may catch and feed on rats that have ingested it, potentially killing those unknowing hunters. Though only once have we actually seen a dead rat on top of the ground. They usually carry it back to their nest and die there, hopefully after sharing it with other rats. You'll have to decide what route to take, but I've found this to be the most effective poison by far.
