    A great humane squirrel rap

This is an excellent product. We have had squirrels in the loft for a couple of years now and it got worse this year. We did not want to kill them so searched around for humane traps for later release. We caught 9 squirrels in one week and 1 pigeon. The cage comes as a flat pack and it is relatively easy to assemble although the instructions could be a little clearer. Would highly recommend. (Hint: squirrels can't resist peanut butter and hazel nuts. A peanut butter cake with a few hazelnuts on top and the cage placed on the ground where you have seen them is all that is needed)

    Caught birds but no squirrels

I wouldn't recommend this trap. Used it for nearly three weeks and caught two female blackbirds but no squirrels. Tried the conventional baits (maize, peanuts, walnuts & peanut butter) separately but each time the bait was gone but the trap didn't spring. Bait was placed in front & beyond the pressure plate. I even smeared peanut butter on the plate itself but that was entirely removed and, again, the trap didn't spring. On receipt of the trap I even bent the catch a little to make it as much of a "hair trigger" while still allowing the trap to be set. Maybe my local squirrels are just very smart. I've gone for an alternative which has worked very well.

  • A very effective trap

I purchased the trap due to having squirrels in my loft. The trap arrived within 2 days as a flat parcel but was very easy to assemble and set. Remarkably within 2 hours of it being set with bait, i had my first squirrel. The trap is robust and escape proof. It is very easy to dispatch the squirrel and reset. A good product which i recommend after catching 8 squirrels in 10 days.

  • Excellant product

Brilliant! Done the job, got 4 squirrels in 48 hrs. Easy to set up, just a slight adjustment to make it sensitive and works every time.

  • Good value to buy

It's great value for the money. We have already used the the cage few times. In our garden we have a pear tree, the squirrels have built a drey or winter time they go under our roof. So we have had this problem for many years. They dig our garden, they destroy our plants, they chow our fence, and trees. If the garden door is open they come in and make mess and their smell is very bad. In the last few days, we had had success in catching them 4 times. Afterwards we released them about 10 miles away from our home. In the past we released them just around our home and they returned. It's a good buy.

  • Very good traps

Well made easy to set up and a good catcher 3 squirrels in one day you can't ask for more than that I baited with peanuts stuck in peanut butter in a small tin lid wired to the back of the trap worked a treat .going to buy another 2

  • Works a treat, no more squirrels.

6 sqirrels eating the bird food and damaging feeders, all attempts to stop failed. Caught one every morning and shipped to park 2 miles away after a nice breakfast of peanuts. Best to put the cage inside a box for transport to calm the squirrels. Practice opening rear door to release while the cage is empty to avoid accidental contact.

  • Title fine

It is sturdy ,well put together and easy enough to set .However not trapped anything yet so difficult to rate .Concerned that the pressure plate might not be sensitive enough but will worry about that once I know squirrel(s)have entered the trap but not triggered the mechanism.

  • Very effective piece of kit

The trap is manufactured from vermin proof steel, seems effective in use. It has an excellent carry handle and an effective release door. Once triggered the trap door firmly shuts and stops egress of that which has been trapped. Was it worth the purchase price....yes. Need I say more?

  • Caught two squirrels so far...more to come?

The squirrels have been causing havoc in my garden and my wife was reluctant to go for a 'kill' policy...this trap seemed a great compromise. Once I had worked out how to unfold the unit using the instructions, the unit seems stable and of strong galvanised wire construction. The spring trap is effective, easy to set and the exit end is great for safe release. Two minor blips is the end release rod needs to be carefully removed/inserted and do place a (recyclable) plastic tray at the business end to prevent the bait dropping through the wire base. Use leather gardening gloves to remove the end release rod thus avoiding possible bites and throw a blanket over the whole unit for 'calm' transportation of a trapped critter. All in all a great and effective bit of kit.
