A real bargin for under £40
The bike stand was much heavier than I expected – always a good sign. Packaging was good, and all the parts were there, even the required Allen key (but I didn’t find it until I was nearly finished).
Assembly was fairly straight-forward, following the included instruction sheet. I did feel, however, that the instruction order wasn’t perfect (hint: put the feet and tool tray on first). Some of the parts needed considerable force to push into position.
The stand includes a tool tray that attaches to the vertical tube with holes for screwdrivers etc, and a magnetised tray for small parts. There’s also a telescopic gizmo to keep the handlebars in a fixed position. Both very handy items to include.
I’d say I spent around 30 minutes assembling the stand, but some of that time was spent looking for tools.
Once built, the stand is rock solid and holds my 14kg bike easily. I had been concerned that the gripper wouldn’t be able to cope with its wide, oval top-tube, but it wasn’t a problem at all.
I really don’t know how I managed without a bike stand and I have no hesitation in recommending this one. It’s brilliant :)
