GOOD POINTS - It works! It did not require programming of any sort. NOT SO GOOD POINTS - The buttons are pretty stiff, and thus can be a bit imprecise. This may loosen-up over time. It is a lot lighter than the original SKY remote which makes me slightly uneasy re longevity. All in all, a good buy which does the job. Fingers crossed for durability. Works OK
There is no label in the battery compartment, showing the version number (which should be REV.10), so I wonder whether these are genuine Sky HD remote controls. Furthermore, the mode configuration option (required for advanced home distribution systems) is not available. Consequently, they always operate on Standard Mode 0. That is not a problem in normal use and they work OK. The cost of two remote controls was a fraction of the retail price of just one branded Sky remote control, so they represented incredibly good value.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tread carefully
One might think that a Sky remote is a Sky remote is a Sky remote, yes? But my most recent purchase proved this not to be the case. At a glance, indeed upon close inspection, it appeared to have come out of the right factory. But by the front door? I think not. The innards didn't quite fit, leaving the top right silver lip proud and it wouldn't stay down. Not a good sign. Furthermore the all-important version no. inside the battery compartment cover had been smudged out with permanent marker, a sure sign of disappointment ahead. And yes, a version 10 it wasn't because it wouldn't programme my new TV which wasn't listed on Sky's website. It should have, because I had the code courtesy of the new TV, but in fact it wouldn't set up for ANY TV at all. So back it went. Ordinarily, these remotes are the pinnacle of usability, with a mix of TV and Sky functions that actually are easy to use. A certain other member of the family (who shall remain genderless due to PC still applying before BREXIT) can easily use this whereas its Humax equivalent frustrates us both. Well built, great value, good features.
Although this remote is an excellent price and very good quality and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, does everything it supposed to do, it doesn’t turn my Samsung lcd tv back on(after being turned off)it operates sky hd box, operates all tv functions, but won’t turn tv back on,tried reboot on remote, took batteries out for an hour(still didn’t work) tried various codes(including original remote codes) but still nothing, could be just my tv? Will probably be ok with other tv’s? But still for the price,it does everything else I ask of it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Saved me a few quid
The remote is a lot lighter than the genuine Sky control. It was very easy to programme and I can turn the volume up on my tv which is something I wasn't able to do with my old one. Excellent for price
The handset was a replacement. Very speedy delivery, brilliant price (so much cheaper than Sky) and much better make. The backing - where the batteries go - will not deteriorate and exactly the same functions. Desperately needed a new one and refused to purchase from SKY. It also feels lighter.
