Nice product, but not a high-security “vault”.
Nice product for keeping handgun “secured” (at a very basic level) and handy where you need it. Calling it a “vault” is quite a misnomer, as a child could probably pry it open with a butter knife — or a determined teen could just kick it open. I would NOT trust this ”vault” to secure my firearm against a youth with “disorders”, nor to leave it visible in my car while unattended. It will keep sane-honest people out and put your gun where you need it. Access via the keypad is not foolproof, but it is simple and easy. Expect the need to enter your code 2 or 3 times when you move from orange to red alert. Better to push the buttons firmly & decisively rather than fast and error out; and practice in the dark (the buttons don’t light up on my model, which is fine for me). I screwed it into the side of my nightstand. It can easily be burgled, but it is right where I want it and I leave it open overnight for quick access.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Makes too much noise!!!
The light can be shut off, the beep can be silenced and the size of the safe makes it relatively easy to hide. However, when the lock is released, it makes a very loud noise which could very easily give your position away inadvertently. Great Safe, Easy install, a little noisy.
This is a great safe for a single handgun and an extra magazine. Installation was easy with all hardware included. If I had anything to complain about it's the noise the internal tumblers make when opening. The compartment with the rubber bumper is not a problem, just the internal mechanism. It works.
I guess I never really thought about what I was mounting it to, and the screws are not big enough to be secure. I used 4 in inch screws to mount the bracket after finding a solid spot on my wall.
