Bit different to the norm.
Never seen this Sony model before, I'm assuming it was not sold or over marketed in the UK. This one is a fine example it's in absolutely MINT condition and came with everything that was with it when new around 16 years ago. It has some amazing features that even modern cameras don't have, such as night mode that enables you to take pictures in complete darkness and is brilliant for Astral photography for all the star gazers. Filled a hole in my collection and take good photos
This auction was for a pair of Sony DSC F 717 cameras and they both suffered a similar problem but as I didn't have this model in my collection of Sony cameras I thought this would be a nice chance to fill the gap. All my models are fully working so I assumed I could probably get one of these back to full working order by harvesting parts from the other. This model (as with most Sony digital cameras) are fairly well covered in Youtube videos but I didn't need to look farto find how to disassemble the model 717F and one was easily fixed as it was a loose ribbon cable connection. The other was a totally different problem (both had the same lack of images in viewfinders and screen). The one I cannot fix (cost and my dexterity) remains in the same conditio. The images taken on this 5MP camera can be just as good as some of the 48MP smartphone cameras and nearly as good as those I take on my later Sony cameras when used for general images. Not so good when trying to do Macro shots, but for their age they are really good.Verified purchase: Yes
