About this product

Product Information

Created for those who want to understand photography, the Canon EOS 6.3 MP camera is a personal body only that is professional. Remain ready to snap photos using rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries featured on this Canon EOS 10D. Cropping and enlarging won't result in pixelated pictures if you get a camera with more megapixels. The 6.3 MP image sensor on this Canon EOS digital SLR camera enables you to make 8x11 inch prints of the moments of your life and share them with family and friends. Since the Canon EOS 6.3 MP camera has a 1.8-inch LCD monitor, you can review photos with ease. With its black body, this Canon EOS 10D is a classy device for taking pictures. This Canon EOS digital SLR camera features a flash memory slot enabling you to extend the number of pictures stored in the camera. Excellent picture quality and superb performance are yours with the Canon EOS 6.3 MP camera. This Canon EOS 10D includes only the body and no lens. Picking the interchangeable lens or lenses based on your expanding photography needs and budget is one upside to getting the camera body on its own.

    Solid Performer for Tight Budget

If you don't need to print larger than 11x14", and you aren't shooting sports or fast moving subjects, then this camera is a bargain. It has a solid build and all the basic functions of a professional DSLR for $100 or less, so you can invest more in good lenses. The review screen is very small by today's standards, but a serious photographer shouldn't need to rely that anyway. * It does NOT accept Ef-s lenses. EF only. * It uses Compact Flash (CF) memory cards. * No Live-View.

  • Most critical review

    descent

I bought this canon eos 10D and it was everything what I expected not a fancy camera with good quality like nikon d800 or a canon t3i but its descent. it was fairly well taken care of. once I got a lens for it the camera shoot just fine.

  • great camera

This is a great camera and much less costly than the newer models. The image file size is plenty for most purposes unless you need to crop in a lot so work on getting the picture you want when you take it. It does use the larger size memory card and I was told that an 8 GB wouldn't work in it but it does, just doesn't tell you the number of photos left because the camera counter doesn't go that high. The 1 GB cards are only available used now.

  • loads of features , but complicated

I use this with manual lenses from an old 35mm SLR camera and cannot speak to many of the features (I can't use). It works great for me and takes great pictures.

  • Good inexpensive first DSLR

Add an inexpensive auto-focus "AF" lens (like 28-80 zoom, or one of the many by Tamron - they are often on eBay), and you have a good first DSLR for someone wanting to experiment with getting serious about photography, or a cost conscious photography student who is tired of the hassles of using film. While it can't keep up with the advances in technology, this means the 10D can be a remarkably good value - it plenty features for someone getting started (turning on auto everything can result in a nice "point-and-shoot" system), and advanced users can determine exactly how much they want to control.. NOTE - The EOS mount for this camera only takes EF, not EF-S - the EF-S lenses protrude into the camera body too far, and can prevent the mirror from swinging out of the way. See the Canon EOS 10D wikipedia page for lots of details.
