54mm saw did the job.
I had never replaced a lever door handle / lock with a round door knob or used any kind of circular hole saw. Preparation and accurate measurement were key to getting it right. I drilled small holes in both sides of the door corresponding to the door knob centres and made sure they coincided. Then I opened out the through-hole to just narrower than the centring drill attached to the saw. Finally I tightly assembled the drill and saw (it MUST be tight or it will come loose during drilling due to vibration) and tried to drill into the door at right angles up to the saw and then about half-way into the door. Then I did the same from the other side and found the two cuts met almost exactly, leaving a neat hole that only needed slight filing. The 54mm saw cut very well. Best to push gently and not force it. I strongly suggest checking the lock depth and increasing it with a spade drill if necessary before cutting the big hole for the knobs. No hesitation in recommending this drill/saw set.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
