Very easy to spread , it hardens extremely quickly!

Excellent repair! Extremely good value and can get a few more years out of an exhaust. As long as the exhaust is still solid then this is great for plugging small holes . For a bigger job a clamp /bandage is needed. Incredible really ! Definitely need the gloves tho. If done properly this product is great ! 5*

    Crap

I had heard good reports about this product, so when my exhaust was leaking around the join slightly I thought I would use it. I had driven the car for around 20 mins prior to applying it so it was warm as recommended. I layered the Gum over and around the leak so it was quite thickly coated. I then Left the Gum to harden for 21 hours and the weather was pretty warm too, so More than enough time for it to harden. The next day started the car and All Good, no noise at all and seemed the Problem was fixed. 4 days later iThe Gum had blown off, so back to the exhaust leaking again. I certainly would not use this Product again.

  • Great product

I used this product to modify an exhaust on a old garden tractor as the original part was no longer available. It has done the job great. No leaks, no cracks, just a good sound join.

  • " A 'hole' lot better"

Bought to repair and patch up a small hole in my car's exhaust. It hasn't moved or cracked yet, after many months of driving. Delighted with the product and what it was bought for. Highly recommended for similar applications, providing holes are not too big.

  • Does what it says on the tin.

This stuffs been around years, and still does the job. If you're looking for it you know what it is, stick to the original its not wildly expensive and you just know its a trusted long standing brand.

  • waste of money

tail pipe on our motor was broken by some kids standing on it , back box was just 12 months old so all the metal was sound, used Gun Gum to fasten the tail pipe onto the box--first time out it broke loose and the product was set and hard. My advice Dont bother with GunGum it just does not work--or do you know different-?

  • Great for DIY repair of exhaust leaks - no need to scrap the whole system.

My Peugeot 107 had an exhaust leak at the joint where the centre pipe meets the rear section and the rear silencer. I replaced the rear section but found that the new pipe was slightly different to the centre pipe fitted at the factory long ago. I used the gun gum and a metal clamp to seal the new joint and my car passed the MOT a few days ago with no advisories about the exhaust system. This gum is sticky on the fingers but flakes off quite easily after a few minutes. There's a small spatula in the tub to help spread the paste but with tricky access and poor sight of what you're trying to repair you are very likely to use a finger to smooth the new joint. If you run your engine at idle for about 10 minutes the heat of the exhaust will bake the gum to make a solid seal. Back on the road again!

  • Easy to apply and mould with wet finger, stcks well, cheap, effective.

Easily applied and moulded, sticks well, does what it says and takes paint well, saves you money on small exhaust holes.

  • Ideal for what I used it for

I've only just used the Holts putty to seal a small gap in my car silencer, so I'm unable to say if it is any good until I've used my car a lot

  • great product

used this product to fit my back box and it has done the job. comes with a plastic scraper and in a plastic tub which I think are better than the tin ones. when I bought a metal tin and only used a bit and sealed it up hoping to use it again it all dried up.i recommend this product because it has done the job.
