I'll never use a regular thermometer again!
I have used this thermometer for 4 years and LOVE it. The digital read out is very easy to read, goal temperatures are easy to set, easy to attach to the side of the pan. I teach candy-making workshops for people who have never made candy before. When we used to do this with traditional thermometers (with the red "ink"- ugh), we regularly had batches burn because the participants had a difficult time reading the temperature. In addition, as I've gotten older, I have really struggled to read the writing on the traditional thermometers and distinguishing the individual lines. Now, participants can easily read the temps. For me, I love that I don't have to grab my reading glasses to see the numbers. Everyone wanted to know where to find one and my helpers, especially, wanted to change to the digital ASAP. To be fair, there are a few things I'd want to change: - over time (4 years? with very regular use), the digital read out because difficult to read. Read out seems to blend in with the digital framework that creates the temp readings. - over time, the holes on the clip that hold the thermometer in place are less effective at holding the thermometer at the correct height. The thermometer seems to slowly slide down the clip until it is resting on the pan. Again, this is with very regular use (30 - 50 batches of candy a year). - I have no idea what that metal round thing is that comes in the package. I tried using it the way the picture on back of packaging shows- between clip and thermometer head- but all it did was create another item that needed cleaning. - I wish I could create a few "preset" temps that aren't included (yes, I can manually push the button to create a new goal temperature but I use certain temps regularly and I don't like having to manually redo them every time). That said, I'm getting REALLY picky to find something to change. I LOVE this thermometer. Worth every penny!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Burnt Candy
