Tiny Camera, Huge Performance
This is one of the most versatile point and shoot cameras of all time. Using the auto setting lets you simply point and shoot under a wide range of lighting and other conditions and get consistently decent results. If you're a perfectionist, you can manually select aperature, shutter speed, ISO and other focal options that give you the creative control to tailor the results to your liking. As with many other such cameras, you also have a number of scene settings to cover most lighting, orientation and distance conditions. The video produces sharp 720p high def clips. Other niceties include multiple battery options (including 2AA battery with fairly astonishing battery life). The onboard memory is sufficient to store a fair number of lower resolution images, but adding even a 4GB SD card will provide more than ample storage. Image transfer to PC is quick and easy. The optical zoom is adequate at 4x and adding the available digital zoom will increase zoom dramatically, but this is probably the weakest feature on this otherwise fabulous little jewel. Recommended for newbies as well as pro's who want good shots in situations where behemoth SLR's are impractical.
