    No ring pull

My 94yr old dad loves carnation cream in his coffee at 11am, but he's had difficulty with pouring it out of a slit made wit a tin opener... we couldn't find one of the "proper" openers I remember from being a kid for tins without a ring pull. Spotted this, bought it, dad loves it & so do I. Thank you so much

    Not good enough

Firstly, I can say it is cheap and well-made (although I suspect it is not made of stainless steel, but is merely chromed. However, I cannot understand why all modern versions - including this one - of what is such a simple tool have the little hook placed so far back. This means that, when you use it to punch a hole in the top of a can, there is always a 'lip' left, which prevent all of the contents draining out easily. Old versions did not do this - they managed to get the hole al the way to the side. I'll keep searching...

  • Simple and Effective

Good quality old-school opener, exactly what I wanted. For some reason this type of opener is difficult to find in the shops. Does the job very well and I'm sure it will last for years to come.

  • Not working after 3 months of use

Worked brilliantly at first, although it wasn’t 100% what I wanted. My mum has one that cuts the triangle all the way to the edge of the can... this model leaves an edge so the milk doesn’t pour out of the can cleanly:( after 3 months of using it once or twice a week it doesn’t work anymore, not starting enough to open a cab anymore. Must be cheap quality. Am not buying a replacement... back to using a tin opener and widening the hole with a knife!!!

  • Handy gadget

Lost the opener I had for years then realised how much it was used could not wait to get new one its a good one every bit as good as old one not many things you an say that about these days.

  • Just what I needed. I'd had one years ago. Moved and lost it. I've been stabbing my evaporated milk with all types of instruments!

  • Great little opener to take on holiday. Very light. Makes a small triangle - do on each side

Great Speedy delivery BUT, I wrote previous review after using once + the opener did the job perfectly. However, it must be made of too flimsy metal + with subsequent cans I could NOT puncture the can at all. I'd bought specifically for travelling to keep the weight down but am now away with a full size opener.... Perhaps you should check + remake in more robust metal

  • Back to the days before ring-pulls!

Now I can make any non-ring-pull can of liquid an easy pour dispenser. This as particularly handy if you like evaporated milk in your coffee. Don’t forget to close the can with one of the many snap on plastic lids.

  • Not great

This product is a bit flimsy. It is not as good a quality as they used to be years ago. Tried to use the can stab to open a can of evaporated milk and it just bent and made a little dent in the lid, not pearcing it as needed.

  • Traditional can opener

Couldn't find one in the shops, but this was just what my father-in-law wanted. Just like they always made them....for opening tins of evaporated milk! Works a treat.
