upgrading
I live in a hilly area requiring frequent gear changes. My dog is an avid cyclist who insists on coming on my rides, with me pulling him along in his trailer. This has prompted me to change my downtube shifters to either a trigger shifter or brake shifter. My first attempt at this failed when the trigger shifter would not wrap enough cable to shift into the top sprocket. It did give me a chance to install the bosses. They fit flush and solid. They are well made and will hold up to extended use. There is probably an entire generation of cyclists who have no idea what these things are or what they are used for, but, if you're old school and want to try one of those newfangled shifting contraptions these are the items you need. I highly recommend them.

Perfect for converting a drop-bar bike to a more comfortable riding position
These made it possible for me to convert an old Trek drop-bar racing bike with shifters on the down-tube into a comfortable flat bar bike with thumb shifters. The barrel adjusters make it super easy to dial in the shifting adjustment. I'm very pleased with the quality and function of these cable stops. NOTE - The bike I used them on had Suntour shifters and these Shimano cable stops worked perfectly, (compatibility between the brands was not an issue).

Replaces downtube shifters with barrel adjusters.
These work well. I have them on another bike of mine for ten years with no problems. You can adjust them on the fly with ease if you need to. If you are replacing your old downtube shifters with newer shifters on your handlebars, these are what you need.
