Great fryer 8/10 if I was to score it
Great for cooking allsorts, not so compact length wise on a kitchen counter handle pops out so make sure it's not in a busy section, I have mine in a corner, so far since I've had it I've made chicken pakora, sausage suppers n allsorts more from scratch, 1 flaw I do see is how to safely change the oil without causing a mess considering the oil comes out a bottle ( going to need a funnel for easier recycling ) but comes apart easy enough to wash the tray and base, just have to clean the power bit that sits in the oil, all n all I'm happy with my fryer it's exactly what I was needing for what I wanted to doVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

disapointing
very cheaply made! handle to basket i found very dangerous, ill fitting.. had to re bend to make it safer. a little extra thought about this product, would have made it better.like the fact when basket resting out of oil, it runs down the face of casing. lid fits over outer case, so oil drips on outside not back into the oil container. the add states " professional " . no way is it. professional fryers the oil drips back into oil container. shame as this looks good when new. but in time ? im sure the faults will give it a much shorter life.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap and practicle
cons: Mine came with part missing so fitted my own. Temperature markings around thermostat dial are laughable. The fryer has no bottom so 190 Celsius heat cooks your work-top golden brown. pros: Turn the dial short of full on,when green light goes out cook five chicken wings at time. So it has the power needed to keep the temperature up and the long basket space for whole fish. Non stick pan comes out for easy washing (like I ever will).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

An excellent quality item !!
An excellent, well designed product which still performs well after several months of use. Of special praise is the fact that the power cable stores within the body of the case, and the basket handle is removable, and also stores tidily. Capacity is adequate for family useage and the heater element ensures speedy and accurate control during the cooking process. The control and heater element is easily removed for cleaning, and (unlike some others) the control display plate and 'knobs' are of good quality and easily cleaned ! Roast potatoes
Yes this was bought for cooking roasters exclusively. It arrived a few days earlier than expected so well done Currys for quick delivery. The most amazing thing about this though is the price - at 20 quid it is untouchable for bang for the buck. It was put to work almost immediately. Capacity was good enough for two to three persons roasters. Normally roaster can take up to 90 minutes to cook in the gas oven with chicken or beef joints; the spuds would be cooked in a sunflower oil after being boiled first. We expected this time to be reduced using a deep fay fryer but were caught completely unawares and unready when they took 5 minutes in this machine!! The roasters turned out much the same - about 98% - bearing in mind this was the first attempt as using the old method and I am sure after few more attempts I can replicate the old method's results. One thing I don't take to is that the handle needs to be detached from the basket in order to store the basket inside the machine. However, the handle is easy enough to detach. The basket, pan and handle are able to go through the dishwasher but I have not tried the pan yet, just the basket. The pan (that holds the oil) is very tinny - I don't see that as lasting well if this were in use daily. I also do not like that the basket sits on the element but I assume it will not harm it as this is the way it is supposed to be according to the instruction booklet. To get to minimum level two and a bit litre bottles of oil were needed so the oil will need to be saved in a container to make this cost effective. Of course the oil can be left in the pan but I like saved oil to be filtered after each use.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good For The Price
This purchase was my first electric deep fat fryer, so I went for low priced just to see if I like this method over stove top !. This little fryer is actually very good considering the price. I use it on my cooker top so I can draw the steam and smells out of the room with my extractor hood, since the lid does NOT contain them in any way. I only ever cook chips from scratch and find that the suggested temperature for chips is too high. My first attempt at that level produced brown bordering on burnt on the outside and barely cooked inside. A little experimentation however and they are now fine. Also it is wise to take care when filling, as a little too high a level and it will spill over the top quickly....Overall, even if a little wonky and a bit flimsy in design, I'd say it probably isn't worth going for the higher priced fancy ones especially if like me, you dont use it that often.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I bought this for my caravan as i already have a Breville version at home and love it, although I didn’t want to pay a lot for a 2nd one as it wouldn’t be used as much. I am thoroughly impressed as although it is is a little flimsier than my other on the outer body the rest is as good and delivers the same cooking results. I do use mine in the garage though as I don’t want to stink the house out 😂🤣😂 unlike other deep fat fryers you don’t use a lid whilst cooking and I feel this improves the life of the fat as there is no condensation adding water content to the fat. Heats up fast. I put this on a black heatproof mat! Perfect for us but don't come over the hole in the lid when turning the control knob! Come from the side, common sense really but I can be thoughtless. We made chips one day and poppadoms the next. both crispy and yummy. Chips cook faster than it said on the top.
