  • Viv La Minolta

Another quality lens that delivers sharp images with excellent colour rendition. Like all lens it has its sweet spot which to me is somewhere between f4-f8 but the main thing is the excellent value and keeping the Minolta name alive thanks to Sony keeping the lens mount on their Alpha range of cameras. Everyone with a Sony camera, be it a full frame or cropped sensor, should have at least 2 Minolta lens or pay much more for an almost identical lens that has been rebranded. There are claims that later lens having better coatings to deal with glare and ghosting etc but unlike camera bodies, glass technology has not moved on much - in fact the later build quality isn't as good because of the use of plastic elements. So grab a bargain whilst they are still available at such low prices.
