Fast shipping! Good Seller! Love these Puretone jacks. I have them on most of my guitars. The black one, like this, is not as black as it appears -- it's more black nickel, not jet black. However, I use a black mechanics permanent marker to blacken the jack and nuts more, and it turns out looking very good -- very black. And, the mechanics permanent markers do not come off without chemicals or abrasion. So, the color stays.

    Better than seitchcraft

The cost is a little more but worth it. Iโ€™ve always used switchcraft jacks but they fail every now and then. Pure tone has more contact points for a more secure fit and are shorter for more cramped spaces. Never had one fail yet. A+ product.

  • Most critical review

These are not the jacks you are looking for

First, the color of the jack in the picture is not representative. The jack is black nickel but its color is more of a semi-transparent black over chrome. It is not black. Secondly, I had to scrape the nickel from the terminals to be able to solder to them. Bottom line, if you want black, these are better than chrome, but not by a lot. And with the soldering issues, they are of questionable worth.

  • Excellent Jack But Picture Is Misleading.

This is a solid upgrade from the jack that came standard on my PRS SE Custom 24. It grips the plug on the guitar cable nice and tight and there is a noticeable improvement in the guitar's tone. It was easy to solder and coming with 2 nuts is a bonus. The 2 complaints I have are: 1) It does not come with a star washer like many cheaper quality jacks (A star washer really helps in keeping the jack from rotating). And 2) The picture is misleading and this is my biggest disappointment. The color is more nickel then black or even black nickel. I am modifying my guitar to all black hardware and wanted this particular jack due to it's features and reputation. This jack doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the hardware. These 2 issues aside, it is a great jack to upgrade your instrument and I ...

  • Secure your cable for the long term with this jack!!!

Get this jack to be sure your cable is securely attached for the best connection and signal transfer to your amp. It takes a pretty hefty pull to dislodge the cable instead of almost falling out of the OEM jack after time - I have 3 guitars with this jack installed and after 4 yrs they are as secure as they were on day one!

  • Not really black

Imo, Pure Tone jacks are among the best on the market. I wanted a black one, ordered this and received it quickly, but it's more of a dark gray than black. It definitely doesn't match the picture but I can live with that and it's not too noticeable with the cord plugged in.
