It would not turn on automatically with just sunshine. Also. Unplugging the extension cord, caused the fan to drop to "medium", plugging the extension back in ramps the speed back up to "high." I think its better described as a solar assisted fan.

With confusion in the shipment, I called FedEx. They said there's nothing they could do, since it had the same tracking. I contacted this seller. Their automated reply was to wait.
