The GPS mount is an antenna mount that you bond permanently to the glass and then attach the camera to it. You either need one of those or you need a suction mount - not sure how the GPS works with suction mount. The hard wire kit is for if you have no 12v "cigarette light" socket and/or if you want the reversing camera function to work.
