    10 shades of grey

    This is a very subjective product to use. Separating value and hue is a skill that must be learned through bitter experience. This product will start a dialogue and from that point of view it will help the novice. Better to use a light meter and use Ansell Adam's zone system (laborious and expensive though). The value finder relies upon the fact that the checker is illuminated evenly (and using the same light source that you will use to illuminate your painting). Not easy!

    Good bit of kit

    It does what it is supposed to do. Very clear. But it is a little flimsy, and could get damaged easily
