    It took a little while to arrive (about 20ish days) - however it was from japan to australia! The packaging was excellent and the product arrived as shown, however there were some damages during shipping, all of which seem to be fixable. Umataro did do a partial refund to cover some of the damages which I accepted, although he did also offer a full refund if I wanted it! He provided excellent communication over the entire journey and was very helpful. A+++ seller, definitely will buy from again.

    Restoring Vinyl Records with Sony PSHX500

    This turntable was a purchase that I wished I would have made right from the start. First of all let me just say that I have always been a vinyl enthusiast. I have also purchased a great many turntables from Direct Drive to Belt Driven, From USB to just RCA Composite cable input. I also love the warm sound of an old analog record, it isn't the pops and the hissing that I enjoy it is the warmer sound stage presence that one can clearly hear from a vinyl record. I also enjoy being able to listen to my music collection on the go. With the use of a FiiO X3 Gen 2 I was able to do that, but still some of my files that I had were compressed maybe not to the degree that one would be turned off to it but a degree of the sound stage was still missing. That was clearly taken care of by the Sony ...

    Looked great but right side goes in and out.

    Turntable looks fantastic came an all original packaging. Said there is a CD to download the software needed for recording that wasn't the case. Sometimes the music stops playing on the right side must be a loose wire either in the cartridge or inside the tone arm. Getting through recording my albums which is why I bought it may try and fix the issue but just have to keep an eye on the sound wave to make sure one side doesn't cut out. When working properly records very well and sounds great but sometimes one side just cuts out completely.

    Best Record Player for the Price

    This system absolutely exceeded any and all expectations I had previous to purchasing. I have a pretty cheap receiver with a decent pair of speakers, but when you throw a (clean) vinyl on this puppy, it honestly does sound better than digital. The minimal assembly and calibration took all of about 10 minutes. And not to mention, the A/D converter is almost worth the money by itself. The one thing I will say is that the audio cable that comes with it to connect it to whatever preamp or receiver you've got is only a 3 footer, so if the player is going to be a small distance from it I'd suggest grabbing one ahead of time. $10 RCA pairs can be found at any PC Dick and Sons, best buy, etc

    Probably the highest resolution USB output available for archiving vinyl LPs

    WAV or SACD quality USB output files puts MP3s in the shade! The weakest link is the moving magnet cartridge, which admittedly sounds very good, but is not as good as a mid-market pickup that would cost as much as this entire discounted USB turntable rig at $230-250. The Sony is really good value.

    The only pitfall is the tone arm doesn’t automatically return when the record is through playing. Everything else is awesome. Design is sleek. Goes well with all my other Sony products. Recording to PC is simple.
