      intel e8600 review

Solid and dependable with a mere 65watts of max power Over clocks to 4Ghz if you're into that sort of thing I run one core all day at 100% stock speed doing project work and use the other core for day to day working Have considered a quad alternative but 32 bit system/software lacks the RAM capacity to take any serious advantage of those 4 core units, maxxing out at 2.5Gigs

    • Stable, cool, quiet. Really solid processor.

I set the FSB to 400 MHz, resulting in a CPU clock of 4.0 GHz, with a slight voltage bump it runs really well, processor stays cool, handles any office work you throw at it. Obviously won't run well for gaming, but does a great job as an office pc. Replaced a Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz and it's night and day difference in speed.

    • Low Cost 775 Socket Upgrade for Speed and Heat!

Big upgrade from 2.6GhZ to 3.33GHz - but 1) Watch out that your heat dissipation infrastructure is up to the job. This processor runs way hotter than the 2.6Ghz one. 2) Don't forget to get the right BIOS downloaded from your motherboard supplier

    • Intel Core 2 Duo E8600

I am not an PC expert, I just share with you my experience. I installed this CPU in a Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo M/B with Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2-800MHz (TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX) ram memory, a Neutron GTX 120GB as C drive combined with a classic HDD for the librairies and a low price NVIDIA chipset graphics card(~55euros), all of them running in a Windows 7 ultimate 64bit OS. I would run at the same time a HD video(1080p on VLC programm), copy large files from one HDD to another(or running a back up programm like Microsoft SyncToy) and have open more than 3 pages on Firefox. Sometimes I run Nero11 with another programm in parallel. In these conditions, the PC responds immediately in any new command that I'd give. No delays no problems, & I also see a small but visible difference(to the best) from ...

    • Great Upgrade For Low Price!

Upgraded to this used Intel 3.33GHz processor from an Intel 2.5GHz and noticed a huge difference in processing videos (Movie Maker) and other applications. Very good price and works perfect!
