I contacted the seller and they outright accused me of peeling it off myself (for the sake of £5?!) and were extremely rude. This type of damage wouldn't have been just through transit and in the listing picture it just looked like light reflecting across it... in exactly the same place. Had a chat with an Ebay representative, they read the messages and reported seller to the safety team themselves.
