Die Geschichte von Ben und Mau-Mau Inhalt: Das ist die Geschichte einer klugen Katze, die an einem Fr hlingsmorgen die Bekanntschaft eines kleinen Jungen macht. Der Junge hei t "Ben" und die Katze "Mau-Mau". Es ist die Geschichte einer Freundschaft und wie Kind und Katze gemeinsam erwachsen werden, die Natur entdecken und die Jahreszeiten erfahren - symbolisiert durch die Kranichz ge im Fr hling und im Herbst. Beide leben im gro en Haus von Bens Onkel, Herrn "Stiegelfett" - zusammen mit der K chin und Onkel Stiegelfetts Assistenten, dem vornehmen Herrn Balthasar. Die K chin kocht irgendwann nicht mehr nur "porridge" f r den Onkel, sondern lustige Sachen wie grasgr nen Spinatpudding mit wei er K seso e oder Rote Gr tze mit vielen bunten Smarties und Balthasar zieht eines Tages seine feinen Hosen aus und bequeme Jeans an, weil Onkel Stiegelfetts Haus zu einem Tierheim umgebaut wird f r ausgesetzte, versto ene und nicht mehr geliebte Tiere. Ben und die Katze erleben poetische, lustige und ernste, traurige und sch ne Alltagssituationen aus der Menschen- und aus der Tierperspektive (zum Beispiel verliebt sich Ben in Katharina und Mau-Mau in Anton, einen rothaarigen Kater, der an einem Donnerstag von einem Auto berfahren wird.) Sehnsucht, Trauer und Freude, verbunden mit dem Lebensgef hl von Tieren und Menschen, liegen eng beieinander und wenn "Mau-Mau" in manchen der erz hlerischen Windungen ein wenig "menschelt", dann gerade nur so viel, dass Kinder ihre Buchheldin ein bisschen n her an sich heranlassen k nnen.
