About this product

Product Information

This classic account shows how the fall of Constantinople in May 1453, after a siege of several weeks, came as a bitter shock to Western Christendom. The city's plight had been neglected and negligible help was sent in this crisis. To the Turks, victory not only brought a new imperial capital, but guaranteed that their empire would last. To the Greeks, the conquest meant the end of the civilisation of Byzantium and led to the exodus of scholars stimulating the tremendous expansion of Greek studies in the European Renaissance.

As usual, this seller is completely trustworthy: the book was as described, terrific value, arrived very swiftly from America, well packaged and safe. It was an old library book, but in great condition and appearance, and there can be no criticism, simply thanks and praise for a job well done.

An excellent book lot of valuable information regarding all aspects of sewing. A very rare find as bought from the USA. Which was dispatched and and delivered quickly. Excellent communication throughout the transaction. This book was in very good condition as described and well packaged. Happy to highly recommend this seller with reasonable postage from USA. Many thanks.

Book as specified, rapid delivery (from USA to UK), and a reasonable price for an out-of-print book. Many thanks for that. Overall, my book arrived in "reasonable quality" packaging. A padded "book mailer" envelope was used. Inside, the book was wrapped in brown paper, to further protect it. One small constructive point of constructive feedback: perhaps cardboard packaging could have been implemented, as a number of competing book sellers are now implementing cardboard packaging.
