The black Nikon camera body is a small digital single-lens reflex camera equipped with 10.2 MP DX-format CCD imaging sensor that delivers sharp details and vibrant colours. The Nikon D40x is easy to use and suits beginners because it has eight digital vari-program shooting modes, such as sports, child, night portrait, close-up, landscape, portrait, and autoflash-off. Each one of these modes chooses the best aperture, white balance, tone, hue, and sharpening settings to fit the lighting conditions. Choosing the settings on the 10.2 MP digital SLR camera body is easy thanks to the assist images that show the example image for the settings. All the captured images and settings can be seen on the 2.5-inch (6.4-cm) colour LCD screen of the Nikon camera body that has a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees. For fast-moving subjects, for example, sports photography, the Nikon D40x offers the continuous shooting speed of up to 3 fps. The 10.2 MP digital SLR camera body turns on instantly and changing the shutter speed is also done in less than a second. Lenses compatible with the Nikon camera body belong to the Nikon F bayonet mount type.

    Learning should be fun the D40X make it so!

    Getting your head round the basics is vital, but overloading your brain with unnecessary technology can hinder a students progress. Using an older school DSLR can help streamline the learning process. 10mp is more that enough and along with some good glass can render top quality photos. Save your money for now and go in without the pressure. Enjoyment first and the photos will follow.... keep it simple! ; )
