The entry hole is only large enough for a single cable which you rarely have in modern houses, the lamp holder is so fiddly to access the cable into due to its position and trying to tighten the screw that’s in the lamp holder is near impossible. Most fittings have connection blocks with fly wires to the holder to make fitting easier.
