    Compact and Versatile!

It’s easy to use. It has all the effects without the noise or complexity of cables. It has a phrase looper. You don’t need an amp, only a pair of headphones with a 1/8 to 1/4inch adapter to play through it. I like it better than the ME-80, which I owned and enjoyed but gave to a friend a year ago. The ME-80 was a larger more feature loaded unit, but the ME-70 has a better foot pedal in my opinion. I spend more time playing and practicing because of it.

  • Most critical review

    Pretty good stomper.

The effects are pretty good, though I don't go for raspy solid state distortion. Great for metal/thrash in the band-limited CD age, though. Not too good for live play, though. Too many button stomps required to change patches to allow for instant change on the beat. I'm looking into a way to, at least, assign a patch to each of the 4 switches but I'm not sure it will do that. I will probably have to design circuitry to fix this problem. Don't like the wah. Not enough resolution and so it changes too quickly. Really hard to do anything subtle with it. Might be able to adjust it it some but I'm not sure it will help.

  • As easy to operate as individual stomp boxes

This multi-effect box was designed to be operated just like your favorite single-effect box with little learning curve to be able to get the sounds you want. There is no complicated programming, and it comes with great sounding preset effects (in some cases with the era of music they apply to) and the ability to store user presets if that is your desire. I'm not a big fan of having to spend a lot of time learning how to get what you want out of a computerized guitar interface. I would rather just plug it in, dial a few controls and get going like normal stomp boxes. Don't get me wrong, there are advanced features but you don't need to go there to get good effects out of this box. It is also built like a tank which means it's a little heavy, but so are several stomp boxes daisy chained ...

  • It's not the me-80 but that's totally okay.

This not-so-little piece of musical equipment packs quite the punch. I have played with the ME-80 at the music shops and had my eye on it for a long time but i decided that i should spend less and get the previous version to start with. Boy, what a great decision. It may not have the capabilities and range of its later version, but that doesn't stop this comprehensive pedal board from being fun. The only drawbacks are that you cant really download patches like the newest model, but at leas you can find patch libraries online. And the usability of this pedal board makes it quick to write patches and edit them. It just takes time to find tune the right sounds since you have so many options. If you do buy this item for yourself, here are some tips. 1. Buy decent sound equipment to get the ...

  • Great Multi-Effect Floor Board

This is just what I was looking for. Well designed and super easy to use (unlike TC Nova). The layout is intuitive, sensible and easy to remember. You won't be wasting time digging through menus or trying to remember how it works. The basic Reverb, Delays, Distortions, and Modulation effects are excellent. Storing and calling up presets is a piece of cake on the fly. The WAH is nice and other pedal effects are good too. There's a lot going on with this unit, including a Looper, iPod/CD in for jamming along, Cab simulations, Direct Out to Board etc. All in all, BOSS has done a terrific job with this model and for the gigging musician, or closet player, you certainly won't be disappointed running with this "tank like" effect unit. And, it runs on batteries for about 15 hours!!!
