    The old ones are the best.

    Like many of these old films they are well acted & create a lot of atmospheric nostalgia with the settings, also them actor’s & actresses were superb.

    Top class post-war London-set film noir

    This is a first-rate top-class thriller in the film noir mode, all the more interesting because it is British. Great performances, moody, dark and memorable, set against a backdrop of war-bombed London and grim prison life. Not well known at all - but a real gem and deserves greater attention.
