Synopsis
Robotman spoofs suburbia, trashes tacky TV shows and offers absurdist commentary on everything from hosing down spider monkeys to the latest conspiracy theory. "I've tried to create the comic strip equivalent of 'Monty Python's Flying Circus, '" says Jim Meddick., Created by Jim Meddick, "Robotman" has quickly gained a cult following among readers who prize the strip's blend of Monty Pythonesque absurdities, social satire, and pop cultural parodies. Centered around nerdy inventor Monty Montahue and his sidekick, a cynical android named Robotman, this outrageous strip presents an unusual variety of offbeat, adult humor.

  • It puts a big smile on my face!

I am a Jim Meddick fan and love the reproductions of many of his early comic strips, including those only featuring Robotman and progressing to those of both Robotman and Monty. Looking at these strips gave me many hours of laughter. The smile on my face would not go away.

  • For the serious student of irony and facepalms

The tales of a man named Monty whose ironic fails and foibles expose all that is funny about late 20th century America and has always been my first read of the comics page.
