It has been used for gardening, DIY and other times I have needed to get on my knees to do some work. I struggle to get to my feet from a knelt position so this is a firm & solid support enabling me to get up without fear of it giving way. As my knees cause me pain when kneeling I have found an extra layer of foam works. I am well overweight so need this extra padding but for an average weight of person it is not necessary.
